Coffee Bag Construction
The construction of the common paper coffee bag is a fairly simple process done by some cleverly designed machines. These machine use high quality materials to make sure the bags keep flavors locked in and air out.
To the left you will see a roll of Polypropylene liner. This is an important part of the over all process because it helps make sure freshness is locked in.
Another important of the process is the attachment of reusable soft and pliable reinforced tin-ties that are added on all coffee bags.
Before coffee bags are filled with beans the machines make a pre-folded gusset to “snap” when the containers are full
The next part in the process is adding the precision cut thumb notch on top edge of the bags which make them far simpler to manage.
Finally they are painted for those who want colored coffee bags or simply left as standard tan kraft for those who don’t!
Here are some technical diagrams to help you understand the design aspect of the bags better.
